Two days ago,
my shoelace came
untied
while I was in my last
running cycle
on the treadmill.
Foolishly,
I ignored it and
kept running.
Amazingly,
nothing untoward
happened.
Yesterday,
I took the precaution of
double-knotting
my laces.
And then,
during my last
running cycle,
I tripped
over nothing.
Amazingly,
nothing untoward
happened.
I am
taking
today off.

Just so you know, I totally just showed your poem to one of my 5th graders as an example of how to place line breaks. :)
